If you’re a licensed user of Best Case® Bankruptcy software, you likely received an email today announcing that Version 18 is available. The email contained an unlock code that you’ll need in order to upgrade to the new version. If you use the Demo version of Best Case® you’re in luck! They’ve already upgraded the free Demo download to Version 18.

  • some new official forms as of December 1, 2008
  • a few new local forms for:
    • Oregon (ORB)
    • Wisconsin Eastern (WIEB)
    • Wisconsin Western (WIWB)
    • Hawaii (HIB)
    • Iowa Northern (IANB)
    • Kentucky Eastern (KYEB)
    • Louisiana Eastern (LAEB)
  • “Schedules D, E and F added Notes/POC tab that allows you to keep track of information related to particular creditors and includes a checkbox that lets you track the receipt of a Proof of Claim, the date the Proof of Claim was filed, and the Proof of Claim Amount” (excerpt from Best Case® website)
  • “Proof of Claim Review that allows you to keep track of all the proof of claims received for a case based on your entries on the Notes/POC tab for individual creditors available from Tools | Case Tools | Proof of Claim Review when a case is open” (excerpt from Best Case® website)

Don’t expect any dramatic changes to the look of the program with this upgrade. The only noticeable change visually is the color of the logo (which you see only when the program is opening). The program works so well, it doesn’t really need cosmetic changes. But, again, when a person works on it for so many hours each day, it would be nice to have the ability to change at least the skin or color scheme.
